A new exhibition, Tigers vs. Bulldogs: Origins of a Historic Rivalry, in the Paul Brown Museum within the Massillon Museum explores the history of the Massillon and Canton professional football teams of the early 20th century. Tigers and Bulldogs will display photographs and artifacts representing both teams through July 2, 2023.

Spanning two decades, football teams in each city brought forth the best players money could buy and put on stunning shows for hundreds of spectators. The day of "The Game" would be anticipated by thousands, who would attend to cheer on their teams, dressed to impress with pins and ribbons of orange and red.

This historic rivalry influenced the local high school gridders. They adopted the monikers, mascots, and team colors, and continued the annual tradition of battling for the championship title. A rivalry for the ages, meetings between the Massillon Tigers and Canton Bulldogs epitomize Friday nights under the lights.

Visitors to Tigers vs. Bulldogs can also see the Paul Brown/Massillon Tiger Football History Timeline as well as many other history and art galleries.
