The Perfect Fall Road Trip in Ohio!

Now that fall is officially upon us, it's the perfect time to experience all the beautiful foliage that Ohio has to offer, from one end of the state to the other. Fill up your gas tank, because this is Ohio's perfect weekend fall road trip!

1. Coffee Emporium, Cincinnati, OH

You can't start your long road trip without a little caffeine courage. And you're in luck because Cincinnati has one of the best artisan coffee shops anywhere in the state with Coffee Emporium! Artisan teas and coffees abound so choose wisely. 

2. Little Miami Scenic River and Trail Center

From the Coffee Emporium, it's only a 30-minute trip up the road to the Little Miami Scenic River and Trail where you can experience what this road trip is truly about: the beauty of fall! Take a short hike and watch the leaves turn orange and fall before you hit the road again.

3. Jen's Deli, Wilmington, OH

After all that hiking, you're probably ready for lunch, and you'd be disappointed if you missed the chance to check out Jen's Deli in Wilmington. With a warm, charming atmosphere and a unique variety of lunch sandwiches including gluten-free and vegetarian options, you might just discover a new favorite lunch spot.

4. Deer Creek State Park

After lunch, strap in for a 45-minute drive to Deer Creek State Park near Mt. Sterling where you can work off those calories on a scenic and relaxing hike through the fall foliage while enjoying the sights of nature and wildlife along Deer Creek.

5. The Orchard and Company, Plain City, OH

Don't wear your shoes out too much on that hike though, because no fall road trip would be complete without a trip to an apple orchard to pick some apples! The Orchard and Company provides you with lists of which apples are most ripe, so you'll have the perfect snack for the rest of your trip.

6. Scareatorium, Columbus, OH

Of course, you can't forget that fall is Halloween season, so steel your nerves for the 30-minute trip over to the Scareatorium in Columbus. This haunted house isn't for scaredy cats, but if you're brave enough, you're sure to get some thrills at Columbus's premier haunted attraction!

7. City Grille and Bar, Mansfield, OH

If you need to calm your nerves and unwind after a long day of fun followed by an evening of scares, then hop on the road North to Mansfield and check out the City Grille and Bar for a few drinks and some of the best American fare bar food in the state!

8. Winfield Bed and Breakfast, Ashland, OH

At this point, you'll be ready to hit the hay after your long day, so take a quick trip over to the Winfield Bed and Breakfast in Ashland where you can book a fireplace suite with a queen bed, over 200 quality movies to watch, unlimited beverages, snacks, and a fruit and cheese plate on arrival.

10. Cuyahoga Valley National Park

You're on the last leg of your trip now! And the grand finale is the Cuyahoga Valley National Park! The park is beautiful all year, but especially so in the fall. Explore the canal and hike over 125 miles of trails ranging from the nearly flat to the challenging!
