Fountain Square, Cincinnati, OH

This family-friendly event features ice skating, midnight fireworks, dancing and lots of goofy games. It’s free to attend, but regular admission to the skating rink applies if you want to skate. The official party kicks off at 8 p.m. The rink is open at 10 a.m.

21C Museum Hotel, Cincinnati, OH

Celebrate the 1920s as you ring in 2019 at the NYE Fete. You’ll receive a complimentary beverage with your ticket, enjoy live music by the Pones and dance the night away among art deco décor. 

Cleveland POPS Orchestra, Severance Hall, Cleveland, OH

This annual event is considered the “best New Year’s Eve party in Cleveland.” Erich Bergen is the featured special guest for the concert that starts at 9 p.m. After the concert, you can party and dance into 2019 with the Cleveland Pops Jazz Ensemble and “The No Name Band.” Stay for the midnight balloon drop.

First Night Columbus, Columbus, OH

Go downtown for this safe, affordable and substance-free celebration that showcases the art and culture scene of the capital city. It starts at 5:30 p.m. and runs through midnight, where the party will shut down after a huge firework show.

Cleveland Metroparks Zoo & Rainforest, Cleveland, OH

Noon Year’s Eve at the Cleveland Zoo is included with your zoo admission. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., you and your kids will enjoy music, dancing, crafts and a ball drop at noon. Special VIP packages are available for a unique experience. 

NYE Rainbow Ball, Akron Civic Theatre, Akron, OH

A party for 21+ only, that includes entertainment, food, five-hour open bar, queen appearances, a midnight celebration and much more. Proceeds benefit Akron Pride Festival. Dress up for this all-inclusive party. 

Hensville, Toledo, OH

Start with the “Chef’s Table Dinner” that includes appetizers, salad, entrée and desserts, then go to the After-Dinner Dance Party with Jason Kelley from Book That DJ. You’ll enjoy a champagne toast and balloon drop at midnight. Continue dancing until 1 p.m. to ring in 2019 with style. Park Inn has a special hotel package to stay overnight just a block from the tavern. 

First Night, Youngstown, OH

You’ll want to get an early start at this party to enjoy all the scheduled activities. Opening ceremony is at 4:30 p.m. and the fun continues through midnight. There are bands, crafts, events and activities for families and adults to celebrate the end of 2018 and the beginning of 2019.

Walleye Drop, Port Clinton, OH

This event is celebrating its 21st year of dropping a 20-fott walleye three stories in celebration of the new year. Activities start at 4 p.m. for children and continue throughout the evening for people of all ages. Master TC and the Visitors are the featured live entertainment. After the walleye drop, enjoy a firework show. 

Jag’s Steak and Seafood, Dayton, OH
