I'm honestly very torn about this place. We were given a membership so for a free year I can't complain. My kids are 3.5 and 7. I personally feel that the majority of the exhibits are too young for my 7 year old. But he seemed to enjoy himself anyway. The planetarium is pretty amazing, but the guy doing the live show is ridiculously annoying. The show was very educational, however, and a great excuse to sit still for awhile. Speaking of sitting, there are not enough areas for parents to sit while the kids are playing. It was also VERY cold throughout the entire museum. Overall it was a fine experience and something different to do on a cold, snowy day.
Our family loves going here, so much to do and there's been a few changes since I was a kid. Mini golf course, new learning stations that are interesting for both kids and adults. My favorite is all the animals! The gift store has lots of fun toys and trinkets. If you plan on going more than once, the membership is probably the way to go as far a pricing.
The planet show was hilarious and educational! The death star made an appearance and we learned about the Dayton sky view. The bird tree house was very nice. My 6 year old son and I had lots of fun dancing in the music and shadows room.
The whole family loves this place. They close early in the day so get there early enough.. pack a small cooler/ large lunch pale to eat in the vending eating area. Can easily spend 3-4 hours in there. If I lived closer I would go more during the year.

Great place overall. Has a lot of educational activities for kids. The treehouse gives kids a view of nature and wildlife that isn’t normally seen at science centers. The zoo is small, but still worth visiting. We also watched one of the educational programs with a zookeeper, and they were great at interacting with all of the kids and answering all their questions.
