Essex Studios is located in Walnut Hills at the historic Hamilton Tailoring Co. building at the corner of E. McMillan & Essex Place.
The Hamilton Tailoring Co. began converting its Cincinnati location into artist studios in the nineties as the American textile industry started to decline. Currently there are close to 200 studios which house artists, designers, craftsmen and even a church (Missio Dei).
Essex Studios Resident Artists include painters, photographers, sculptors, designers, jewelers, wood turners, printers, art therapists, fused glass artists, audio technicians, theatre groups, ceramicists, luxury soap producers, potters, fashion designers and metal workers just to name a few.
Essex Studios is proud to be Cincinnati's most diverse artist collective and art gallery. All artists, as well as patrons, are welcome into this community space. We hope you'll join us for one of our quarterly Art Walk events. The Art Walk takes place the first Friday in October and December during 2014.
