As conservators of wildlife, we exist to provide a dynamic, financially responsible, guest-centered animal experience that is energized by innovation and fun.
Full of animals, they are making better changes every year and for a great price you can enjoy yourself. I enjoyed the set up of the paths, it makes it easy to see every animal. They are part of a program Downtown Akron that will get you a buy one get one admission. This is a pretty awesome thing, but luckily its not very expensive either way. They also have inexpensive season passes so you could come every day. You have to pay for parking so be aware of that. Its $3 I believe. I had an awful time finding my car, there's not much to mark the locations and it all looks too similar. If you have to leave to grab something out of the car you can come back, the ticket is good all day. I think this is a great way to spend the day and will certainly come back for many more visits.
We are members to the Akron zoo and love going anytime! It is not too large that you feel like you walk forever before seeing animals, yet big enough to spend a few hours without getting bored. We really enjoyed Brew at the Zoo and other fun activities the Zoo hosts. Our favorite time to visit is when the weather is bad, the animals seem to be out and very active.
Fun outing in Akron! The annual membership is a great deal if you are local. The zoo is small, but makes for a fun afternoon. Some of the exhibits seem too small for the animals (jaguar, snow leopard), but for the most part it is good. The otters, bears, and penguins are our favorites. The curious creatures indoor area is also awesome!
My children love it here, they are 3 and 1. The animals are usually out first this when you arrive at 10. The food in the restaurant is tasty and they do offer healthier selections. The new curious creatures exhibit is one of the coolest things I've seen. We purchased a membership which also allows discounts on special events and gift shop, we love it so much.
So many fun animals. Great place to take the kids. Animals are close up and the best part is being able to feed the goats and shop. Don't forget to say hi to Cletus the pig. Everyone forgets about him and he comes running when he heard good name called
