After a behind the scenes look at the animals and how they are taken care of, it would appear not all are taken care of very well... Display and petting zoo animals get plenty of attention. There is a small shed far from public access, that has two small cages OVER-filled with domestic cats with no food or water. Watched over the course of a day and no attention was paid to them throughout. Prior to my access to the park, there were rumors of what the staff refer to as "Nuisance" animals being treated very cruelly. Raccoons, domestic cats, etc. Stories of them being beaten to death and or fed to other animals. The park does provide a good service and home to many abused exotic animals, but are not so kind to others.

Lots of childhood memories here!! One of my favorite places in town! The animals are in the care of loving staff and are getting a chance at a better life. Keep up the good work!

We enjoyed our visit on a nice cool day in June. There is an impressive number of big cats. We experienced the power of a lioness roaring. Most of the time the lions and tigers were lounging (so manage your expectations). But when they're moving it's an impressive show. Be patient. A wolf came to the fence to investigate and tell us we were on her turf. Lots of snarling. Fun. Many other animals to keep you and the kids entertained (zebras, deer, lemurs, monkeys). We had a relaxing afternoon. The care and concern for the animals is apparent. My impression is the sanctuary prioritizes the health of the animals over the entertainment of visitors. And that's fine with me. Everyone is friendly. I only wished I could have gotten closer to the bears.

Been going for years. I went this year and noticed how much worse this place is. Quite a lot of sick animals. Animals they had for years. The weeds in the habitats is anywhere from my waist to shoulders. Seen 3 animals not including the animals in the petting zoo. That was the only area cleaned and presentable. So sad!
